Rumor Has It | Technology

Sing it with me (feel free to add the Probst head bobble while you’re at it…): “Rumor has it, mmmmmm, <head bobble> Rumor has it, mmmmmmm, <head bobble>.” I challenge you to not sing that again for the next hour. Good luck and you’re welcome!

No, seriously. Down to business kids. Today is the day. THE day. To be more specific, the day I have been waiting for since March 23rd. You see, if you know me at all (or read this blog in any varying degree of frequency) you know I am NOT a patient person. I’m not even sure the virtue of patience was being distributed the day I was born. To say I enjoy immediate gratification, is an understatement.

So you can only image what kind of inhumane torture I have endured since March 23rd when I was eligible for an early upgrade from my iPhone 3G… knowing that the next generation iPhone was rumored to be released… in TWO AND A HALF MONTHS! Yes, this post is all about my ridiculous first world challenges.

Fast forward SIX months… yes, I have waited almost SIX months for my upgrade (thoughts going out to Tsunami/Earthquake victims…). I think my contract actually is up this month. I don’t think I’ve ever made it through a whole contract. But now I sit here and wait for the b-i-g announcement today at noon wondering… iPhone 4S? iPhone 5? What will it be?!

I know I’m not the only Mac Addict here… so what do YOU think? What kind of phone will I be standing in line for later this week?! Place your bets here….

Reception Albums | Pro Products

Any of my past clients (and my husband, parents, friends, Heather, etc.) can tell you how I am a bit particular about certain things at certain times. Okay, “a bit” may be a slight understatement. Regardless, while it probably drives many of my friends and family to varying degrees of insanity, it often serves me well in my business!

One of my biggest challenges as a photographer has got to be finding products that meet my ridiculously high quality standards, at prices that make it accessible for my existing clients and price point (read: less than the cost of one of my packages), and that have options I want (i.e. sexy photo covers). Don’t worry – next week I’ll be featuring the most glorious non-photo cover albums EVA! For now, I am happy to report I am finally… for the first time in over two years… feeling really amazing about my choice of products for my clients! And I was pretty sure this was never going to happen.

This is my “Reception Album”. It is just a modern take on a traditional guest album… because my fabu clients are anything but traditional! The pages feature interactive questions for the guests, prompting more than a quick signature for the bride and groom to remember them buy. Because what good is someone else’s signature? Signatures are for mortgages and celebrities.

The biggest “sell” for me was that these albums are not press printed. They are actual photo printed pages… this means my images look as glorious as they do on my screen, not dull and lifeless like a newspaper! The pages are thick and sturdy, and it even comes in a sweet little black satin bag and box, giving it that shi shi feel we all want from an album! They have tons of cover options, but the matte velvet is my favorite for these albums!

Sunset Junkie | Daily Photo Fix

There is nothing more glorious than a gorgeous sunset on a fall day…. which lately seems to only occur on those days which I do not happen to have a session or wedding scheduled. Instead, I find myself Instagramming random sunset images and visualizing how amazeballs the light would look on my imaginary client! I have given this photo a story… and it may or may not include Cairl_66 rejoicing in this beautiful light for their imaginary client.

(Below) This was a tree a wishing tree Derick and Tracy had made for
there guest to hang wishes on. I love the organic ornate feel mixed
with the tone of the rings.

(Below) Everything about Sarah and James’s wedding was
cinematic. From the music they chose to the decor. I wanted to make
sure their images really had the mood of their wedding and these
worked together so nicely and complemented the tone of the day.

(Below) I told Aaron to have a moment and
talk to Leila. Before Aaron could even say anything Leila was already
giggling. She couldn’t stop giggling for 4 minutes. SO adorable!

(Below) Kathy and Billy were the perfect couple. As sweet and
gentle as they were madly in love. The sun peaked through the trees at
the perfect moment.

- Image Six -

(Below) Jen was gorgeous (i mean seriously stunning) and as soon
as she saw scott for their first look she became giddy. Her entire
posture changed and he swooned all over her.
